Articles and Updates for Dealers

Practical updates from the central station, written for the dealers we serve.

Video verification

What Video Verification Means for Your Dispatch Times

More jurisdictions now ask for audio or video verification before police respond. Here is how Cen-Signal helps you meet that bar with equipment you may already have in the field.

When an alarm trips on a video-enabled account, our Bold Technologies automation platform pulls a triggered clip and puts it in front of a trained operator alongside the alarm.

The operator can confirm what is happening, dispatch with a verified call and notify your contacts. It works with simple IP cameras through high-end NVR systems.

Platforms connected today include Alarm.com, AlarmNet, CHeKT, DMP, Envysion, I-View Now, Rath SmartView, Solink, Videofied and Wurtec WUR-COM. Call dealer service to add video to an existing account.

Caller ID Infusion: Fewer Missed Calls to Your Subscribers

People often skip calls from numbers they don't recognize. Caller ID infusion gives your subscribers one number to save.

When we call your subscribers, they see one consistent number. You can tell customers the exact number to save, even under your company name.

The number can also be customized if your customers call your office and a voice attendant routes those calls to us.

Our story

From One-Man Installer to Nationwide Central Station

How a Columbus answering service became one of the largest central stations in the Southeast.

In 1965 B.H. Davenport started a one-man alarm installation company while working for Southern Bell. When local police stopped taking alarm calls directly, he bought an answering service and began monitoring for other companies too.

In 1984 Cen-Signal earned its UL listing and went all in on wholesale monitoring. The founding family still runs the company today.
